The compact solution
The new Sweep 2K line scan cameras feature a compact design, with the 5GigE models measuring 44mm x 44mm x 64mm and the CXP-6 models slightly smaller at 44mm x 44mm x 54mm. This compact design allows integrators to create more streamlined and less intrusive systems, making them ideal for space-constrained environments.
A great choice of interfaces
The new 2K Sweep cameras with 5GigE interface are a smart investment for various applications due to their impressive performance features. They offer higher bandwidth compared to traditional GigE cameras, enabling faster data transfer rates that are essential for high-speed imaging tasks. This increased speed facilitates faster processing and improved throughput without the need for an expensive Machine Vision-specific frame grabber card.
The new cameras are also available with a CoaXPress (CXP) interface, offering customers flexibility to choose based on their needs. CXP delivers high bandwidth and low latency, ensuring rapid data transfer and real-time processing. Additionally, CXP provides exceptional signal integrity over long distances, compared to CameraLink making it suitable for large-scale industrial setups where cameras are positioned far from the processing unit.
Tri-linear Sensors Design
The new 2K Sweep Series Line Scan camera models are based on a trilinear layout, ensuring true color reproduction with meticulous precision. This layout incorporates separate lines for red, green, and blue channels.
JAI’s FPGA-based binning can digitally increase signal responsivity by summing or decreasing noise by averaging adjacent pixels.
Advanced Imaging Capabilities
Designed to meet the demands of dynamic production environments, the new Sweep 2K cameras come with several advanced features:
- Resume Scanning Function: ensures uninterrupted data acquisition in dynamic production environments. For this functionality to operate seamlessly, the camera must either be linked to a two-phase encoder or receive clear directional signals for scanning. During acquisition, if the object halts unexpectedly, triggers are counted as the object reverses direction. Once the object returns to its previous position, the camera automatically resumes capturing images from where it left off. This algorithm helps avoiding lost lines during image acquisition by maintaining continuous data flow and operational efficiency.
- Trigger Delay based on Trigger Count: Allows vision system designers to set trigger delays based on specific trigger counts rather than fixed timing. This flexibility ensures that if the speed of the conveyor changes, the real-time delay dynamically adjusts, allowing the camera to capture images at the optimal moment regardless of the actual speed, based on encoder input.
- Trigger Controlled Exposure Time: offers a straightforward method for executing applications such as “bright field” inspection, creating HDR (High Dynamic Range) images, or synchronizing with individual colored LED lights (RGB). When the camera receives a trigger signal that goes high, it begins exposing the image sensor, and exposure continues until the trigger signal returns low.
Alongside these advanced capabilities, the cameras include additional features such as selectable output formats (8, 10, 12 bit), master and individual gain mode, Look Up Tables (LUT), Color Space Conversion, Tilted view correction (Key Stone correction), Horizontal pixel binning, and more.
